Can you sit your driving test on a Saturday?
Driving tests are conducted only during daylight hours. Saturday driving tests at certain test centres may also be an option. It is however optional for a driving examiner to work on Saturdays and is also dependent on there being sufficient demand for Saturday test bookings for a particular test centre.
What’s the best time to book a driving test?

London test centres, for instance, have waiting times of 12 weeks and longer. Although more driving examiners are employed by the DVSA in high population areas, test centres’ capacity for the number of tests to be conducted on any given day is limited due to centre sizes.
Do driving examiners know how many times you’ve failed?
Using their feedback sheet, the examiner will count up the number of faults accumulated by the candidate (if any). If they receive no major faults and less than 15 minor faults, the examiner will pass the candidate—giving them a test pass certificate.

Can I choose my driving examiner?
If you were to attend a driving test booking and refuse to take the test with the allocated examiner you would lose your test fee and not be able to sit the test, you cannot request a different examiner. The only exception to this is if you and the examiner assigned to your test booking are friends or family members.
Can a driving test be stopped?
A driving test examiner may stop, terminate or even abandon (mid-test) a test for various reasons. It’s fairly rare, so if you’re a test candidate with a impending practical driving test, here are some typical reasons why a driving examiner might abandon a test.
Is 8 am a rush hour?
Rush hour may be 6–10 AM (6:00–10:00) and 3–7 PM (15:00–19:00). Peak traffic periods may vary from country to country, city to city, from region to region, and seasonally. The frequency of public transport service is usually higher in the rush hour, and longer trains or larger vehicles are often used.
Should I take my driving test on a Saturday or Sunday?
The demand for weekend tests might give the impression that they are the key to passing first time, but this is false. There are, however, obvious pros that come with taking your test on a Saturday or Sunday. If you work a regular 9-5 job in the week, you won’t have to book time off (meaning you can save those precious holiday hours!).
