Will an LBZ mouthpiece fit an lly?
Registered. My vote on an lly is always for an lbz mouthpiece with an S&B LBZ intake(or another brand if you prefer). The stock lly mouthpiece sucks, and the stock lly intake kinda sucks too. Get both pieces made for the LBZ and there’s no cutting, just much better breathing.
Does the LBZ intake horn fit with LLY stock intake?
Registered. You can cut a LLY intake to fit the LBZ inlet with a reducer, or just buy a LBZ intake. If you go with the LBZ, you will need to reflash for the MAF difference(LBZ has a bigger tube).
What’s the difference between 06 LLY and LBZ?
The ’06 LLY and LBZ have the same turbo (ask McRat, he put one on his ’05 LLY). It has the reduced compression, meaning that it has the LBZ pistons. If the LBZ piston has an increased wristpin diameter, then it stands to reason that the ’06 LLY also has the LBZ rods.

there are no difference from the lly to lbz engine wise and transmission wise its exactly the same, the ecm has the tune of a 05 lly with 310hp and not the lbz which is 350hp throw a tuner on there and its not gonna matter.
Why is LBZ better than lly?
Mechanically, the LBZ used the same Duramax parts as the LLY. However, the LBZ generated 360 horsepower over the LLY’s 310 horsepower. Torque increased as well, going from 605 pound-feet with the LLY to 650 with the LBZ. This gave it more power and reliability versus any other Duramax to that point.

No more then 27-30 PSI without studded heads, not much more then that with a stock turbo. Short spikes into the 1400 degree range are ok, but not sustained. You’ll want to see sustained temps in the 1100-1200 degree range depending on the load on the engine.

“What is PCV reroute” you ask? PCV reroute is a must do mod it cost roughly $100.00 bucks but will save you thousands in the long run. It is where you reroute the positive crankcase gases to the atomsphere instead of have them go right back into the engine via the turbo inlet.
Why do PCV reroute on Duramax?
Registered. The PCV reroute will still let your crankcase pressure vent excess pressure & oil mist. It will just be venting it somewhere else (atmosphere or catch can, that’s up to you) rather than into your intake/intercooler/turbo….
