What is Reflective Ink?
Reflective screen printing inks have been around for many years. These inks contain microscopic glass beads that have been partially coated with a reflective metal, which is what makes them reflect the light that hits the beads back to the viewer.

3M™ Reflective Ink for Textiles – 8010 is a low-intensity retroreflective screen printing ink intended for consumer fashion use when applied to an absorbent fabric. The retroreflective elements are exposed, wide-angle lenses.

What is reflective printing called?
There are various terms used for what is essentially the same technique. Traditionally, the process was called screen printing or silkscreen printing because silk was used in the process. It is also known as serigraphy and serigraph printing.
Can you paint fabric with ink?
Inks can be painted on fabric with paintbrushes, air brushes, dip pens, stamps, sponges, or any other absorbent applicator. You can also dip fabric in ink as you would with a dye. Ink makes a fun tie-dye substitute.
How do you seal ink on fabric?
Use a dry iron (no steam) and keep the iron flat over the signature for at least one minute. Do not rub which could smear the ink, but lift the iron up and down over the signature while applying firm pressure to prevent scorching. If you don’t have an iron, toss the signed fabric into the dryer.
How do you heat up fabric paint without an iron?
Odd as it may sound, you can heat set fabric in the oven. Lay your completed project out on newspaper. Roll up loosely and place in an oven that has been preheated to 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Watch the fabric and paper carefully to be sure that it doesn’t burn.
