Can I buy a functional cannon?
Firearms License No license is required to purchase or own our cannons. They are classified by the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) as saluting & signaling devices and not as a firearm or weapon.
Is it legal to make a homemade cannon?
You have to apply with the BATF for permission to manufacture a destructive device. If you can meet all of the normal NFA requirements that come with owning and possessing an NFA item then you can legally build one, or buy one already commercially made.
