Bear sightings are not uncommon in the wooded areas of town near near Baltusrol Golf Course and the Watchung Reservation, and the bears usually move back into those areas on their own, police said. Never feed or approach a bear! Remain calm if you encounter a bear. Do not run from it.

We hadn’t been to Watchung Reservation in over 25 years, so I downloaded a trail map from the Union County web site. It shows many trails, supposedly blazed with different colors, but it turns out that there are now only two blazed trails, one white, and the other pink, which is the History Trail. The History Trail is a disaster.
