What is the difference between Zinsser BIN and Bullseye 123?
Bulls Eye 1-2-3 is Zinsser’s classic acrylic-based all-purpose primer, sealer and stain-killer. Zinsser B-I-N is a shellac-based alternative to Bulls Eye 1-2-3 and is perfect for interior priming or for exterior spot priming.

When can I paint over Zinsser Bullseye 123?
Dry Time – At normal temperatures Bulls Eye® 1-2-3 will dry to touch in 30 minutes and can be recoated after one hour. Topcoat within 30 days. Lower temperatures, higher humidity, and the addition of tint will prolong dry and cure time of the product. Full adhesion and hardness develop in 7 days.
Can you paint over Zinsser BIN?

Do U sand after priming?

Also when painting, like others have pointed out, can raise little fibers from the drywall, going over the surface with a sheet of sandpaper can help get rid of those lose fibers.
Which primer is better Kilz or Zinsser?
Both products offer amazing coverage, but Zinsser is the winner as it’s able to cover much better. Meanwhile, Kilz allows some bleed-through, depending on the surface. You may need to apply a thicker coat for the product to cover better.
Can you sand 123 Bullseye primer?
It provides excellent adhesion to dense glossy surfaces, enamel paints and varnishes, paneling, laminates and ceramics without sanding or de-glossing.
Can you paint over Zinsser 123?
Yes you can paint over that – just make sure it is properly dry. Also if you are doing two coats over it make sure you also leave a good amount of drying time between. BE123 seems to slow the drying process a little and you will find the paint dragging if you try and second coat to soon.
How many coats of Zinsser primer should I use?
In most cases only one coat is necessary to prime most surfaces. If excessive absorption occurs over very porous substrates a second coat may be necessary. Spot priming is recommended only under high-hiding topcoat finishes. For best results, prime entire surface before painting.
Does Zinsser primer need two coats?
Depending on how strong or bold the previous color is, it may be necessary to apply more than one coat of primer. However, it is not necessary to over apply the primer with so many coats. As long as the primer applies uniformly over the previous color, then one or two coats should be sufficient.
Can I use water based paint over Zinsser Cover Stain?
Zinsser Cover Stain has a 2-hour recoat, meaning you can easily paint over it on the same day, even with water-based paint like emulsion. You can coat a full ceiling or wall with it too. Just dilute the Cover Stain with white spirit to loosen it up and off you go.
