Are K-cups and pods the same thing?
A Pod is coffee or tea that is sealed inside filter paper. They have a round, flat shape and are usually soft and pliable. Pods are also known as coffee pads. A K-Cup is is coffee or tea (and recently hot chocolate and cappuccino) that is sealed in some kind of cartridge, generally a plastic cup.
Are K-cups better than regular coffee?
Not only is the cost of the machine significantly less, the research shows that brewed coffee tastes better. If you drink more than one cup per day, this is the clear winner. If you drink one cup of coffee per day, or you are in a rush, then the quick convenience of the K-Cup is the way to go.
Can you use coffee pods in a Keurig?
K-Cups are plastic cups with a self-contained filter filled with coffee grounds. Coffee pods are round, flat, and contain coffee grounds wrapped in filter paper. Coffee pods cannot be used in Keurig machines, but K-Cups can be used in many single-serve coffee machines in addition to the ones made by Keurig.
Are K-cups being discontinued?

Does Keurig Mini use pods?
The K-Mini coffee maker brews Keurig K-Cup pods. It does not brew K-Carafe pods, K-Mug pods, Vue pods, or Rivo pods. Yes, the K-Mini coffee maker brews any cup size between 6-12oz depending on how much water you pour into the reservoir.
Why is Keurig bad for you?

Do all K-cups fit all Keurigs?
No K-cups and Coffee Pods are NOT the same and are NOT interchangeable. K-cups are specifically designed to be used in the Keurig single cup coffee maker only. Keurig has recently changed the name of their “K-CUP” to “K-CUP PODS” but they are very different than actual paper coffee pods.
Can you just add hot water to coffee pods?
Pods contain finely ground coffee, so they are best suited for water that “passes” quickly (like in an espresso machine). Just bathing in hot water should work, but you get a pool of everything (flavour, caffeine, oils).
