What happened to Q-See?
Q-See, while going out of business, has discontinued all of their apps and PC software. This affects all customers who relied on remote viewing to keep an eye on their property or business. We offer remote viewing apps and PC software free of charge with the purchase of our security camera recorders.
What does channel mean on a security system?
On these systems, a security camera’s cable connects to the back of the device. Each possible plug for a camera is a channel. So a 16 channel security system is capable of having 16 different cameras connected. Think of each input as a television channel that you are plugging in.
What is the difference between 8 channel and 16 channel?
Each port corresponds to a channel. Thus, a 16-channel DVR can handle 16 security cameras, an 8-channel can handle 8 security cameras, and so on. The number of cameras cannot really be separated from the number of channels the device can handle.
