What is Livedrive on my computer?
Livedrive is an online cloud backup and sync storage service owned by j2 Global. The company provides users with unlimited backup space and 2,000 GB or more of sync storage. Currently Livedrive has apps for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Chrome OS.
How do you upload files to Livedrive?
Simply go to your Livedrive Briefcase on your PC or Mac, right click on the file you want to share, click “Livedrive” and then select “web sharing”. Then simply select the “make this item public so that everyone can see it” and click “next”. The item will then be placed in your open web sharing folder.
Is livedrive secure?
Livedrive security Data is protected to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard while it’s being stored, but there’s no two-factor authentication on top of your password to protect access to your account, which we’d like to see.
Is livedrive free?
There’s no free plan (outside of trials) like those offered by competitors, including iDrive and OpenDrive. Compared with other backup services, Livedrive is expensive. For example, IDrive costs $69.50 per year for 2TB of storage across an unlimited number of devices.
How does Livedrive Briefcase work?
Briefcase works like an external drive on your computer, so it’s similar to the common model of sync most cloud storage services use. Files that you place there will automatically be synced online. You can then access and edit them by using the desktop app, mobile app or web client.

Does Livedrive store my files on my computer?
If you select “Just store my files online” then Livedrive will not store any of the files on your computer – it will just keep files on your L: drive online. You can override either of these settings individually for any file on your L: drive, and we’ll go into that later. Next to each option is an Exceptions button.
How do I Change my Livedrive settings?
These settings define how Livedrive behaves with new files you add to your drive, or for files where you haven’t given Livedrive any specific instructions.
