Is Stimming subconscious?
While stimming is a subconscious act, I do believe how I stim is influenced greatly by my environment and where I feel most comfortable. I am more likely to flap my hands and pace at home because I am not in a vulnerable position, whereas during an exam I feel extremely vulnerable and limited so my stims can vary.
