Are 20 year old ski bindings safe?
If you still want to continue skiing on your old skis, then sharpen the edges, clean and wax the base, and make sure the bindings are safe. Bindings are for safety and comfort. Manufacturers do not allow ski service people to service bindings older than 10 years, and they send a list of “serviceable” models every fall.
Do touring ski boots fit all bindings?
Most dedicated touring boots meet the ISO 9523 standard. Within the ISO 9523 group, both GripWalk and WTR soles meet the ISO 9523 standard, so they’ll work in any binding designated for ISO 9523 boots as well as bindings that specifically call out their sole type in the model name.
Can you remount touring bindings?
You can remount your skis several times, but each new mounting point should sit far enough away so that the drilled holes are at least 8mm away from the previous holes.
How do you know if bindings are compatible?
The heel should fit snugly in the binding. A properly fit binding should allow the boot to flex, but not sway. If you have comfortable boots, and the bindings securely grip your boots with no extra play, then you have a good match.

Yes! You likely won’t need to redrill your bindings but they do need adjustment with new boots and all bindings can slide forward or back to some degree. Some bindings also adjust up and down. The point is, the boot must fit correctly in the bindings for the DIN settings to have any meaning.
Do GripWalk bindings work with regular boots?
Even on the familiar entry and exit everything is just like traditional bindings. This means that all GripWalk bindings will also work with conventional Alpine boots and souls which comply with standard ISO 5355 – with absolutely no height adjustment.
Can you use GripWalk boots in regular bindings?
Grip Walk: Similar to the Walk to Ride system, Grip Walk boots will not work with all traditional Alpine bindings, but will align with WTR, MNC, and Grip Walk certified systems. An example here would be the Head Kore1 (Grip Walk) boot with a Salomon Shift binding (MNC).
