An area famous for D.H. Lawrence, Robin Hood, Lord Byron, Edith Sitwell and many more. The greatest changes to Spondon took place in the post WWII period, with vast housing projects swallowing up farms and fields. Our house was built in the early 1960s.

Due to a misunderstanding with the UK Tax Office, the original Spondon company was all but dismantled, with Garner taking over the Spondon name. The factory and staff have gone, and Spondon frames are no more.
