Are UVA libraries open?
Library stacks are now open. Study rooms are now available for reservations. Note this rollout is gradual — reservations may not be available immediately for all spaces. The Special Collections reading room is available for walk-ins, or by appointment.
Are UVA buildings open?
Newcomb Hall, 1515 and the Career Center Newcomb Hall will be open Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The student center at 1515 University Ave. is open by swipe card access to students, faculty and staff from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Starting Sept.
Are UVA libraries open in the summer?
Most Library services will remain available through the summer, so if you need assistance, just ask! Spaces and hours will be limited, but Library staff work all summer long and are happy to assist.

Can you eat in Uva Library?
Food and drinks, within reason, are permitted in many Library locations. Library facilities are open only to UVA students, faculty, and staff from midnight to 7:30 a.m. Do not trespass when the building is closed.

Will UVA be in-person fall 2021?
As we have said previously, our planning assumes that the overwhelming majority of our community will be fully vaccinated this fall, allowing us to return to in-person instruction, research, and residential life.
Can I visit UVA right now?
The best way for prospective high school students to get to know the University of Virginia is to attend an information session and tour. We are currently offering virtual information sessions and in-person tours.
How many books does UVA have?
With around 7 million titles, there’s a pretty good chance that we have it, but if we don’t, you can use our interlibrary loan system to have almost any book shipped here for you.

All students who live, learn, or work in person at the University of Virginia during the 2021-2022 academic year must be fully vaccinated. Students may seek a medical or religious exemption to the vaccination requirement.
Will UVA require masks?
Face Masks: Masks are required for all people (students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors), both vaccinated and unvaccinated, who enter UVA properties.
